Privacy policy
Last updated September 25, 2026
CrowdSettle lets people ask for opinions anonymously. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your email address, only if you sign in, so we can send you a sign-in code and tell you when your results are in.
- A random visitor ID stored in a cookie, so each person gets one vote per question and doesn't see the same question twice. It isn't linked to your name.
- Your age range and gender, only if you choose to tell us. Askers see them as group totals of five or more voters, never attached to a vote. You can change or remove them in Settings at any time.
- What you post: questions, options, votes and the short reasons you give.
- Technical data such as your IP address and browser, used to prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
- Payment details are entered on our payment processor's page. We never see or store your card number.
What stays anonymous
Other people never see who asked a question or who voted. Your contact details are only visible to you and, when needed for safety or support, to our small admin team.
How we use it
- To run the service: show questions, count votes, and send your results.
- To keep it safe: automated and human review of questions and reasons, and handling reports.
- To summarize results: question text and reasons may be processed by an AI service to write summaries and screen for harmful content. They are not used to identify you.
Who we share it with
Only service providers that help us run CrowdSettle: cloud hosting, email and text-message delivery, payment processing, and AI processing. They may use the data only to provide their service to us. We don't sell your personal information.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: the visitor ID and, if you sign in, a secure session cookie. We don't use advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
- Sign-in codes: deleted within two days.
- Your questions and results: until you delete them or your account.
- Payment records: as long as the law requires for accounting.
Your choices
You can delete your account at any time from My questions. That removes your questions and results; votes you cast stay counted but are no longer linked to you. For any other request, contact the support address listed on this site.
Age
CrowdSettle is for adults 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you by email.
